The Design Edit: A Bathroom Designed Around the Details

There’s something about a well-designed bathroom that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile.

For this edition of The Design Edit, we’re taking a closer look at one of our favorite spaces in the home: a bathroom designed around a beautiful freestanding tub and thoughtfully built-in storage.

The Freestanding Tub

A freestanding tub instantly becomes a focal point in a bathroom. Its clean, sculptural shape gives the space a sense of openness while creating that relaxing, spa-like feel we love.

But it’s more than just a statement piece. The placement of the tub was intentional, giving it room to stand on its own while allowing the surrounding finishes and details to complement it rather than compete with it.

Niches That Do More

One of our favorite details in this bathroom is the built-in niches with shelving.

Instead of treating storage as an afterthought, these niches were incorporated directly into the design. They provide a place for everyday essentials while also creating an opportunity to display beautiful towels, accessories, or a few favorite pieces.

The shelving adds another layer of texture and interest, turning practical storage into part of the overall design.
