The Design Edit: Why We Keep Selecting Stucco
July 15, 2026
It's Hard to Pick Anything Else
Exterior finishes come and go, but stucco is one of those materials that keeps showing up on our builds for a reason. It's durable, it's low maintenance, and it has a way of making a home look substantial and intentional from the street. Whether it's a clean modern elevation or something with more traditional character, stucco adapts in a way that not a lot of other finishes do. It also holds up exceptionally well in Oklahoma's climate, which matters more than people realize when you're thinking about the long-term investment of a new build.
The Flexibility with Stucco
What we love most about working with stucco is the flexibility it gives us on the design side. The texture can be dialed in depending on the look we're going for — a smoother finish reads more contemporary and clean, while a more traditional sand finish adds warmth and depth. Paired with stone accents, wood elements, brick textures or bold exterior paint, stucco becomes the backdrop that lets everything else shine. We've been incorporating it into more of our builds lately, and it consistently gets some of the strongest reactions from clients touring our homes. It's one of those choices that looks like a design decision but also just makes practical sense, and honestly, those are our favorite kinds.
Take a look at our new model home going up in Lost Creek. They just wrapped up adding the stucco and just goes to prove why we'll keep selecting stucco!
