The Design Edit: Why We're Obsessed with Color-Drenching
June 29, 2026
The Detail Everyone's Talking About
We have to talk about color-drenching, because it's showing up in nearly every build we're working on right now, and we are obsessed. Instead of the same white walls and white trim combo we've all seen a hundred times, color-drenching means taking one bold color and running it from baseboards to ceiling — walls, trim, even built-in shelves and doors. Think a moody teal powder bathroom or a rich green study room that wraps you up the second you walk in. It's dramatic, it's cozy, and it's memorable.
Simple, Yet Showstopping
The best part is we get to plan this stuff in from the very beginning of the build, coordinating trim style, ceiling height, and paint color before a single coat goes on. That's the perk of new construction versus trying to retrofit a trend into an older floor plan. Our in-house designer, Victoria, has been steering clients toward deep blues and earthy greens — less primary-color playroom, more "wow, who's your designer?" If you've toured our model home lately, you get it.
